Tammy Roth was born to teenage parents and raised in a trailer in Kentucky. She grew up with a tenacity to make a difference in the world. However, for years, she was blind to her own alcoholism. She rationalized her drinking as way to cope with the stress of earning two masters degrees from Nashville, Tennessee’s Vanderbilt University while working full time and beginning her career as a therapist. High Bottom is the story of how she went from the backwoods of Kentucky to being a highly functioning alcoholic, living and working in Nashville. The book also tells the story of her holistic journey to recovery. Through women’s groups, retreats and speaking engagements, Tammy now helps others discover who they are as sober women.
