Alex Schumacher is an author-illustrator who grew up in the “Salad Bowl of the World” surrounded by fields, family and a passion for storytelling. During a stint in the Bay Area of California, Alex became involved with both the regional chapter of the National Cartoonist Society and the Cartoon Art Museum. Through both organizations he was able to meet and learn from many talented professionals including Michael Jantze, Jeff Pidgeon and the legendary Morrie Turner. Shortly thereafter, Alex began to find work in the comic book industry and most recently has worked with noted publishers Viper Comics (The Moon vs. The Sun 2012), Arcana Studios (The Unemployment Adventures of Aqualung 2013) and Bluewater Productions (Fame: Tom Daley 2013). Currently he is focusing on writing children’s books, music and developing an animated series. Through Wandering in the Words Press, Alex brings to you The World’s Crummiest Umbrella.
