Robert Sherman Ph.D. launches first book and photography show
Wandering in the Words Press is pleased to announce the release of The Wandering Hinjew by Robert Sherman, Ph.D. The book, which is part memoir and part photo essay, is now available on Amazon in both paperback and e-book formats.
Photography show: In conjunction with the book release, Dr. Sherman’s photography will be on display at the Customs House Museum & Cultural Center in Clarkesville, Tenn., June 2 to June 30 in a show called “The Illusion of Person and Place: The Spirit of Asia by Bob Sherman.” In a special event at the museum on June 13, at 6 p.m., the editor and CEO of Nashville Arts Magazine, Paul Polycarpou, will interview Dr. Sherman about his photography, his book and his travels.
About the book: Dr. Sherman, a clinical psychologist and professional photographer, takes readers around the world with his images and stories of far-flung places to uncover the truths of his existence and perhaps yours. In his memoir, Dr. Sherman explores the role that shame plays in our lives and relationships. He then shares his personal journey to overcome his own shame and his goal of living his life in harmony with his authentic self. The book delves into the damaging effects of childhood sexual abuse, the complexities of navigating a marriage and raising children, and the search for one’s creative and spiritual self.
About the author: Robert Sherman has been a clinical psychologist since 1977. As a photographer and a mystic, Robert has traveled around the world. His photography has appeared in the UN Chronicle and Nashville Arts Magazine. The WBBC commissioned him as the stills photographer for two “BBC Four” documentaries, which aired in the UK in 2014. His private practice is in Brentwood, Tennessee.
